Can singing ease a child’s pain? b

Absolutely! Last night, my Mom brought my son home at 2am with difficulties breathing (major head congestion). Bless him, he was moaning and could not get a wink of sleep. After some natural remedies, which seemed to ease him a bit, he was still having troubles getting settled in bed. I began to sing “his song” to him, and within seconds, he finally drifted off…and this is just the most recent example of many.

Music transcends, as life itself is an intricately woven tapestry of vibration waves (aka…sound waves). Now 21 weeks pregnant, I can also say that even before our babes are born, they respond to music in utero. Sweet babe can be still as can be, but begin to sing, drum or play music and movement ensues, often to the beat.

I am thankful for the increasing amount of research being done to prove music and singing as a powerful tool for well being.

I pledge to inspire, to move people, and perhaps a mountain or two, with my voice and music. To share my whole, beautiful and sometimes messy truth each and every moment I am on this sacred Earth, and encourage others to do the same.
