A Muse in Harmony

The music we make, creates. Medicine music for all.

I’m a lone wolf. Clubs, cults and congregations feel like cages for Souls unbeknownst to themselves. I didn’t join Facebook, or even text much on a cell phone, until 2012, and to this day, I really don’t like to talk on the phone. ๐Ÿ”น
When we moved to Seattle, I left Fb and found new community here on IG. Most of my friends here came from a single Tribe de Mama circle I attended locally after connecting through IG. This, too, felt like it had served it’s purpose, and I never went back
As much as I dig genuine human connection, I equally enjoy pure, meaningful solitude. (Eagle just flew by my window. ๐Ÿ˜‰) I go back and forth with my desire to keep up with this family of squares. No pun intended. ๐Ÿ˜„ And wow, keep up…yeah, it really feels like that sometimes. It also, deep down, feels like a great big ego stroke, if I’m really being honest with myself. I think most of us would be lying to ourselves if we claimed not to care about that little insignificant number we call our ‘followers’, or whether we are ‘in’ with those we view as the cool crowd, the apex girl gang, if you will. Hmm, even that term ‘followers’ feels dividing. ๐Ÿ”น
No doubt, there is inspiration, and at times, what feels like real connection here, and for that, I’m truly grateful. It can be fun; It can be supportive; and also, it can feel isolating and cold. In truth, we are all connected and can tune in to the collective from within, anytime we like. And from this source within, there is a well that will never run dry.
Undoubtedly, I will return, but for now, I’m taking a break from this space to realign with my own internal source of inspiration, wisdom, connection and love. It must come from within to be real. There is no ‘other’ in self-love. And one cannot truly love another until one has fully loved themself.

Author: A Muse in Harmony

A stage performer at age 8, a professional Nashville recording artist by 13 and a record deal on the table by 16, I was born to sing. Disenchanted with the mainstream, commercial track I was on, I set my music aside for years until the pregnancy of my firstborn reawakened my voice. Motherhood has been the greatest flint and tinder to my creative fire. Each of my kids have their own special song, intuitively revealed as I carried each of them in my womb. Sounding during the labor of my second son helped me birth his 10 lb. 13 oz. form in half the time of my first, pushing for only 30 minutes. After experiencing the power of singing during labor firsthand, a passion arose in me to help other birthing Mothers do the same. I embrace music from a holistic perspective. Singing is more than entertainment, itโ€™s entrainment of the mind, body, spirit and world as we experience it. All of life itself is intricately composed of vibration (sound) in constant motion. As human beings, each with our own built-in creation tool, our voice, we have the opportunity to create our world anew. Music carries the listener on a journey, an experience unique to each artistsโ€™ creation perspective. Our bodies eventually fade, but music lives on and changes lives forevermore. From this understanding, the role of a musical artist carries a great power and responsibility, to be conscious of the vibrations we share with the world. I pledge to inspire, to move people (and mountains) with my voice and music, to share my whole, beautiful and sometimes messy truth each and every moment I am on this sacred Earth, and encourage others to do the same. This life is precious. Only you can be you. Show up in all your glory. Rise and shine.
